Youth Programs

Strand Training, in partnership with WORCA, is offering Winter Training Camps and Spring Training Camps for the youth mountain biker.  The overlying philosophy is an athlete centered approach with a focus on creating healthy, passionate and successful human beings and mountain bikers. These camps are aimed at helping youth athletes realize their full potential and are geared towards providing the youth mountain bike athlete with all the tools necessary to succeed provincially, nationally and internationally in cross country, downhill or enduro disciplines.

EVERYONE MUST BE A WORCA MEMBER TO TAKE PART IN THESE PROGRAMS AND MEMBERSHIP WILL BE CONFIRMED.

Winter Training Camps 2018/2019

What and Where?

There will be one designated camp per month that runs over the course of a weekend, and locations change according to weather and focus.  The time frame is approximately 4 hours per day and participants are responsible for getting themselves to the chosen location (always in the Sea to Sky Corridor).

Who?

Winter training camps are open to all mountain bikers 12-18 years old (there are exceptions!) who currently have experience riding off road and would like to put more time into skill progression, fitness and/or race strategy that applies to cross country, downhill and/or enduro.  Riders will be grouped according to skill and experience.  All mountain or cross-country bikes are necessary as there will be no shuttles involved.
