Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Whistler!

We are so excited to share this weekend with you! This trip starts and ends in Whistler. If you would like information about how to get to Whistler, please contact us and we will be happy to guide you in the best direction.
After you’re unpacked and settled into your space for the trip, the group will meet on the patio of RMU for a welcome bevie!. We’ll review our incredible itinerary, and set intentions for the weekend and go over basic bike set up to ensure we are all good to go for the weekend! RMU also has delicious food if you would like to eat during that time. We’ll have tools, pumps, and extra hands for anyone needing assistance assembling their bikes.
Head to bed early for a good night’s sleep and get ready for our amazing weekend ahead!

Day 2: Learn and expand in the Whistler Bike Park
Kick off your morning with breakfast at NAKED SPROUT. We will provide in house breakfast so everyone can get a healthy start to both days.
We will split into our groups and head to Whistler Bike Park, with the aim to get on the first lift. Depending on your group, goals, and experience, your coach will have an amazing morning that ensures we all get going on the right foot. d
After our morning session, we will break for lunch back at NAKED SPROUT - which happens to be just around the corner! Then off we go again to ride, learn and progress throughout the afternoon finishing around 4/4:30.
After an incredible day of riding, your on your own for dinner (ask us about our fave spots!). Make sure you give yourself some relaxing time to rejuvinate for another great day tomorrow.

Day 3: Back to the park!
We have another big day of riding today, so we want to set you up for success. After breakfast at PLACE and reviewing group goals, we’ll head back to Whistler Bike Park. We'll spend the day riding here again, breaking for our picnic lunch, and getting back out there after lunch to dial it all in!
After this amazing day out, we will finish off our weekend all together for one (hopefully not last) words of gratitude, high fives, new friends.

You accommodation does include parking or any incidentals. Parking costs an additional $16 + TAX / day and can be purchased directly from the hotel.
-
Do we have lift line priority?YES! This is one of the biggest perks, you won't be wasting anytime in any lines.
-
What is your booking and cancellation policy? Our booking and cancellation policy can be read here:
-
What bike should I bring? Are there rentals available? You do not need a downhill bike however we strongly recommend that your bike has a minimum of 160 mm of travel and DH casing tires. The bike park is demanding on our bikes! You may choose to rent instead, and if this is the case we will direct you to our favorite local bike shop - Evolution Whistler to reserve your rental for the weekend.
-
What do I need to bring for the weekend? The must haves: Your bike in great working condition, or a rental bike. Clothing appropriate for the weather. It rains, it's hot, it snows, it hails, it DOES EVERYTHING HERE. So come prepared! Hydration pack. There are water stations at the bottom and top of the mountain, however, we recommend having water with you at all times. Full face helmets. MANDATORY. Knee pads. MANDATORY. Elbow pads. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Gloves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Goggles or riding glasses.
-
Can we ride the park after camp finishes? You sure can! But be warned, two full days of riding and learning are a lot and you'll want to feel ready each day. You won't have lift line priority and after camp hours riding is unsupervised, but if you really have more energy to burn - go for it!
-

How does this program differ from 'Bike Fit Performance Hub'?The programming differs in a few ways: 1. Bike Fit Performance Hub is designed with ALL seasons in mind, whereas Bike Fit Pre-Season is a one stop shop for a pre-season ramp up (in other words, specific prep for your on season). 2. Bike Fit Pre-Season is a one time fee for a 13 week progressive program whereas Bike Fit Performance Hub is a monthly fee, a small membership fee and an ability to cancel at anytime. 3. Bike Fit Performance Hub allows for real time messaging to get the feedback you need on demand. With Bike Fit Pre-Season, your coach will check in periodically to iron out questions you may have but this program does not offer real time messaging. 4. Bike Fit Pre-Season offers a movement pattern assessment at the beginning of the program, whereas Bike Fit Performance jumps right in (that said, you can ask your coach questions!).

I'm registered in the Be the Change in person class. Is this still for me?YES! This program is a compliment to what you are already doing in class! Since Be the Change in person is only 1 X / week, this program will ensure progression by adding more strength training to your weekly routine. To see real progress, you do need at least 2 strength training sessions per week.

Why is strength training for the peri/menopause/post menopause populations important?First of all, strength training for ALL populations is important. But let's lock it down with some key reasons why it is particularly important during these phases of life! 1. Preserving muscle mass: as estrogen levels decline during these years, women naturally loose muscle mass and strength. Strength training counteracts this loss and helps maintain muscle tone and function. 2. Boosting metabolism: muscle mass directly influences metabolism. By maintaining or increasing muscle through strength training, menopausal women can prevent the slowing of metabolism that can often lead to weight gain. 3. Improving bone health: Menopause can accelerate bone density loss, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training enhances bone density, which will reduce the risk of fractures. 4. Enhancing joint health: regular strength training (which includes mobility training!), will improve the way you move therefore leading to more mobile living. 5. Balancing hormones: exercise helps balance mood regulating hormones like seratonin, which can alleviate common menopause symptoms such as depression and mood fluctuations. 6. Boosting confidence and mental health: strength training often leads to a sense of accomplishment, improvement of body image, and can reduce stress and anxiety - which can be heightened during menopause.
